There are planned roadworks that may impact your journey to or from the airport.

M23 Junction 10 and 9 (northbound) roadworks

Roadworks will be taking place to resurface the M23 northbound between Junction 10 and 9 (Gatwick).

There will be a full carriageway closure from 22:00 on Friday evening to 04:00 on Monday morning over the following weekends:

Friday 26 to Monday 29 January
Friday 2 to Monday 5 February
(The planned closure from Friday 19 to Monday 22 January has been postponed)

Only the northbound carriageway is affected by these works and signed diversion routes will be in place:

For Gatwick Airport: Northbound traffic for Gatwick Airport will exit the M23 at Junction 10 and take the A2011 (Crawley Avenue) to the A23 (London Road) to North Terminal roundabout and Airport Way for access to South Terminal.

For M25: Northbound traffic for the M25 will exit at Junction 10 and follow the A264 through Copthorne, turning left (northbound) onto the A22 at the traffic lights at Felbridge. Traffic will continue northbound on the A22, reaching the M25 at Junction 6 - Godstone Interchange.

The M23 Junction 10a northbound on-slip will also be closed during each weekend closure.

See the diversion routes on a map.

The southbound carriageway will be open as normal for all traffic to Gatwick/Brighton.

Please allow additional time for your journey to or from the airport during these times.

On the weekend of 27/28 January, there is planned disruption to rail services in both directions between Three Bridges and Brighton.
